Personal Sketch
This piece was a personal project inspired by an earlier stippling assignment in my Creative Workflow class. I decided to challenge myself with the intricate detailing of a rose, focusing on capturing its delicate beauty while emphasizing its bold structure. Using stippling techniques with a fine-tip pen, I meticulously layered dots to create depth, shadows, and texture. This approach required patience but gave the piece a striking dimensional quality, making the petals appear soft while the stem and thorns remained sharp and defined. The contrast between the soft and harsh elements mirrors the duality of beauty and resilience found in nature, which made this project feel both meaningful and rewarding.
