Catalog

This catalog project was created in Publication Design I during Semester 3, and it was definitely a step outside my comfort zone. I chose to center the catalog around rugs because, at the time, I was really into trendy home furniture and decor. Rugs felt like an interesting challenge—not just visually, but also conceptually—since they’re often overlooked as a design element but can completely transform a space.

The project pushed me to think critically about layout design, typography, and how to make something like rugs feel fresh and stylish. While I’m proud of how it turned out as a first catalog, I can’t help but reflect on how I’d approach it differently now with more experience. There are definitely things I’d tweak, but overall, it was a solid introduction to publication design, and it taught me a lot about balancing creativity with structure.
